One week later and I was still in bed crying. I didn’t bother answering my phone. I had let the battery die and never charged it again. I hadn’t spoken to anyone apart from one in the last week since that day. Worst of all, the moment I drove away from the house I realised I had nowhere to go. My friends were Chris’s too and I knew they would make me see him. My sister lives with my parents still, so that was out of the question and I honestly didn’t have anyone else. That along with barely any money meant I had to sleep in my car.
Yes, I had two jobs. But I had my own bank account and had just paid a ton of bills. That first night alone I most of had at least three hundred missed calls just from Chris. Not to mention the messages.
I drove for about an hour. I ended up only God knows, by some woods somewhere. I wasn’t really paying attention when I was driving.
Flashback<\/em>
The next morning after falling asleep crying in my car I woke up to someone knocking on my car door.
“Kim?” The man asked confused. I rubbed my eyes and looked at the person who had just woke me.
“David\u2026” Great just what I need. Whenever I see David, my sister is never far away.
I unlocked the car door and he stepped inside.
“What you doing out here?” He asked cautiously.
“W\u2026 where’s Chelsey?” I asked not wanting to answer.
“We broke up again last week. The last time I saw her she was demanding I give her money for sex. I know she’s you sister, but she is fucked up,” He told me with a hint of a smile.
“I know,” I say letting out a dry laugh, but then all too quick the tears start again.
“Shit!” I heard him curse under his breath.
“I’ll call Chris for you,” He reached in his pocket to grab his phone.
“No!” I grab his hand stopping him. He looks confused.
“W\u2026 we split up.” He looked more confused.
“You can’t have, he loves you he would never split up with you.” He had to say that, they were best friends. “He was going to ask you to marry him.” This made me cry more and he reached over and hugged me.
“He cheated on me\u2026” I whispered, but he must have heard me because he pulled back and looked at me as if I was crazy.
“I came home to tell him\u2026. but I found him in bed fucking Chelsey.”
His mouth hung opened and then he snapped it shut. “I\u2026 I don’t know what to say\u2026” He said speechlessly. “I never thought he would cheat on you. I mean he worships the ground you walk on.” He stayed silent for a few seconds.
“It would have been Chelsey who chased him. Not the other way around,” He said as if trying to justify it.
“It doesn’t make any difference who started it. He did it and had the cheek to lie to my face, saying, ‘oh I thought it was you.’ I mean come on, I am twice the size of her and she has yellow hair!” This made him laugh.
“She was always jealous of your figure,” He said surprising me.
“Well, Chris obviously prefers her.”
“I don’t believe that. There has to be something more to it.”
“Yeah, sure. But it doesn’t matter anymore. I am leaving.”
“Where are you going to go?”
“I don’t know. Mum and dad will take her side. She was always their favorite. I think I will just go to a different town and start fresh. I don’t really have anyone here who won’t try and force me to go see Chris.” I cried more. “I love him so much. I thought we were going to grow old together and have a ton of kids and grand-kids.”
“You can’t just leave, Kim,” He hugged me again. “I know he loves you\u2026” He paused. “Why don’t you come and stay at my house for a while until you are ready to speak to him?” I wanted to argue, but he knew just what to say.
“I am here house sitting my parent’s house whilst they are on a three-month cruise.
No one knows where this house is. It’s in the middle of nowhere, I was out walking my mum’s dog that’s how I found you.” He normally lived in a house he shared with another of his friends. “I promise I won’t tell Chris or anyone where you are until you are ready. Just come with me.”
“Why do you even care? Aren’t you just the flirty player jerk?” I had known him for years, but I still didn’t know him well.
“I am, but it doesn’t mean I don’t care for you. Chris is almost like my brother and believe it or not, other than him and my house mate, you are probably my closest friend.” Alright that surprised me.
“I’m pregnant,” I said not knowing why.
“I was on the pill, but it didn’t work.”
He looked stunned, “I found out yesterday, the doctor did a scan and said it’s twins. I was\u2026 I\u2026” I started crying again, twice as hard as before.

That is how I ended up in David’s parent’s house crying in their spare room.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
