A familiar male popped up on the screen. \u201cAaron,\u201d I whispered to myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHey Snow. I miss you,\u201d The familiar voice echoed around the metal plated room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if you remember what happened or if you are ever going to get this but I wanted to make it just in case.\u201d I felt someone’s breath on the back of my neck, but I didn\u2019t move and continued to watch the video as if no one was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr Marshall \u2026\u201d He went on to explain how our boss had contacted him after the accident and due to some unforeseen side effects they were forced to put me stasis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am going to place this and a few other Memory sticks with you because we have no idea if or when we will be capable of waking you safely. All yours and our research will be on them and a few other bits because I love you,\u201d He winked and I felt the breath on my neck get more harder as if angry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the first of a bunch of videos I\u2019m going to make, so be prepared because things are gonna get fancy. But hopeful we\u2019ll be able to wake you soon and we can get you laid, because no one wants to end up with a sealed box.\u201d I chuckled and mumbled to myself. \u201cSuch a weirdo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His expression changed from a smirk to sorrow and that is when I noticed the tears in his eyes. \u201cI really miss you, Snow\u2026 You wake up. I can\u2019t do this without you.\u201d Tears fell down his face. \u201cI don\u2019t know what to tell them. They keep asking about you. I\u2019m trying to get clearance for them, but it\u2019s taking so long,\u201d He tries to compose himself and dry his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut don\u2019t worry, I am sure I will have better news for you by the next video.\u201d He wore a small forced smile. \u201cRemember, no matter what happens that we love you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s when it hit me, as the first video ended\u2026 They are all dead. My mom, my dad, my brother, my stupid boss, even my pet turtle – Deluxe – was dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWho was that?\u201d Koya asks not seeing the tears falling down my face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAaron,\u201d I say quietly trying to control my emotions. I don\u2019t want to break down in front of a bunch of aliens. What will they think? They know I care? I don\u2019t know, but I do. I don\u2019t want them to think I\u2019m just a weak human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it is hard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAaron\u2026 Was that your mate?\u201d She asks sadly and again hard breath on my neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can\u2019t help but chuckle at that and quickly wipe my tears away before she can see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo. That was my brother.\u201d Her mouth forms an oh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy does he call you Snow when your name is Amber?\u201d She asks again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a nickname.\u201d She tilts her head slightly not understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a thing my people do sometimes. Mostly to people they love,\u201d I try to explain but not very well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh okay\u2026 You and your brother were close?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, we lived and worked together before\u2026\u201d I trail off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe was smart too then? Did you or he have mates?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVery smart. No mates. Well, my brother had a lot\u2026\u201d I remember his many conquests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMore than one?\u201d Ty and she look confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes. Humans\u2026 That is my race. They don\u2019t have one set mate, they can mate with whoever they want. A lot eventually settle with one, others have a different one every week,\u201d I explain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReally?\u201d She asks not entirely believing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes. Anyone. They could choose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd your brother mated many different females?\u201d Ty asks intrigued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot females.\u201d I turned to see confused looks and Phe standing very close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I mentally composed myself, he is the one breathing on my neck but I could have guessed that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut you said he mated many?\u201d Koya asks confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe liked the same sex\u2026 He liked to mated other males.\u201d Wide eyes from all three, even Phe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMales? How?\u201d He asks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t have that here? No male male mated or female female mates?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFemale female? I don\u2019t under how that would work,\u201d Koya thinks out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe, I\u2019ll explain it all another time. I am guessing menage mates don\u2019t happen even?\u201d I joke but they don\u2019t understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMenage. Three people,\u201d I explain again. I can see they want to ask how but I answer first. \u201cI\u2019ll tell you another time. I\u2019m hungry. Do you have any food or water?\u201d I ask. \u201cI can help you with these more after,\u201d I suggest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes. I have checked with my mother and she said that you are capable of processing our nutrition\u2019s,\u201d Phe tells me in a very professional voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI will take her. You and Ty go rest,\u201d He orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you, Brother \u2026 Amber. See you later,\u201d Koya takes her mates hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGoodbye, Amber\u201d Ty says and they leave the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFollow me,\u201d Phe tells me and leads me out of the door to a lift and another floor. Not speaking at all until we reach another room. But staring at me almost the entire time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We enter the new room and the door closes behind you, another one of those like in the room I woke up in. One which when closed just looked like a normal wall, but other than that the room was completely different. Different than anywhere else I have seen on the ship so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stand in awe looking around the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you like it?\u201d The question brought me out of my temporary trance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes. It\u2019s beautiful,\u201d I says without looking back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It looks almost like an apartment. The best way I can describe it is Star Trek TNG meets Victorian England. It sounds really weird, but it is the opposite. It is like nothing I have ever seen before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am glad,\u201d He sounds some what relieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs this your room?\u201d I ask realizing it looks like someone\u2019s personal and not a group room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He turns to me with a nervous expression, \u201cYes. I thought it would be more comfortable for you to consume nutrition’s privately,\u201d He answers back leading me into a medium sized room which contains what looks like a dining table and two chairs and a strange panel on the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTake a seat and I will have them send food down,\u201d He tells me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He began tapping random buttons on the panel and a few moments later three large platters and a large jug of blue coloured liquid appears on the table making me jump slightly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere did they come from?\u201d I ask wondering if it was something like a food replicator or something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He smile for the first time since we were alone last time. \u201cThey sent it in from the galley,\u201d He went into the other room and returns a few seconds later with two clear triangular tumbler glasses. Then pours some of the liquid into them and passes one to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDrink, it will not harm you,\u201d He tells me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I take a sip, the taste is indescribable. \u201cThis is good.\u201d I take another drink. \u201cWhat is it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOud Juice,\u201d He points to one of many fruit type foods on one of the platters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other platters I have no idea what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEat.\u201d Nodding towards the platters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slowly I begin eating from the different platters, but decide to leave the fruit one until last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eating the strange foods, they taste good. But I am still none the wiser about what I have just eaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAren\u2019t you eating?\u201d I ask noticing he is just watching me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo. This is for you\u201d He says taking another sip of the Oud juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre you crazy?\u201d I look at the table \u201cIt would take me two months just to eat half of this,\u201d I exclaim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou need to eat though,\u201d He tells me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am already full. Now I am just being greedy,\u201d I admit with a sheepish smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut you barely ate anything?\u201d He says surprised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know about you, but most humans eat two or three of medium to small meals everyday and that is enough.\u201d I watch his reaction, he seems surprised. \u201cYou eat this much normally?\u201d I point to the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo. Less, but I thought you would be more hungry because of your sleep. But I do eat a lot more than you,\u201d He admits this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGood,\u201d I stand up and grab his arm. \u201cThen you can eat too,\u201d I try to pull him with me but he seems to be frozen for a second before reacting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a mouth full of everything, including the fruit. One actually tasted a little like chocolate, strange but true. But looked more like a green strawberry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We leave the dining area only minutes later. I am surprised to see how much Phe ate. I guess his race burns more than humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He leads me back into the living type area which we stood in when we first entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I sit on a small sofa type chair and he moments later on another one, staring at me with an almost glare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I frown, \u201cIf I am your mate then why don\u2019t you like me?\u201d I ask unable to control myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He frowns this time and shuffles in his seat. \u201cWhat makes you think I do not like you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I laugh, \u201cYou\u2019re joking right?\u201d His blank expression tells me otherwise. I sighs, \u201cYou don\u2019t speak to me. You glare at me and act like you have to be nice. And you never go near me!\u201d I exclaim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI did not mean to act that way. I am just trying to give you time to think. I do not want to pressure you into accepting the mating,\u201d He sounds slightly worried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you want me as a mate or is it just because you have to accept or you\u2019ll be alone?\u201d I ask straight out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His mouth opens and closes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll take that as you have too,\u201d I mumble, feeling strangely disappointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo!\u201d He stands up quickly and rushes over to me. \u201cI do not have to, but even if I had a choice of mate like you do I would still choose you.\u201d He looks like he wants to touch me but doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are the most beautiful creature\u2026 female I have ever seen.\u201d My heart jumps a beat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHave you seen your sister and mother? If your other females look like that then I hardly believe your words\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s true\u201d He crouches down and looks deep into my blue eyes with his golden one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are stunningly beautiful and not just because you are my mate,\u201d He says breathlessly, he glances down at my lips but still seems unsure about touching me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without thinking I grab the back of his head and crash my lips into his.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n
