\u201cHello. You must be Amber?\u201d The man says moving closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I say nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am your\u2026 Let\u2019s say nephew, it\u2019s easier than going into all the greats. I am Dallas.\u201d I stand speechless staring at him in awe. My eyes fill up with tears. \u201cDon\u2019t cry. I know everything that happened\u2026 It must be a lot to take in\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou look like my dad when I was a child,\u201d I say cutting himb off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My heart feels like it is going to break. Why do I have to be alive? Why are my parents and brother dead?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As tears begin to fall, I turn around and fall into Phe\u2019s arms. I feel Lenime move behind me and hold me too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGuards leave,\u201d Dallas\u2019s voice echoes through the room. Footsteps follow, then the closing of a door and silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe misses her old family a lot,\u201d Kiy says sadly and Dax translate to a confused Dallas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am sorry, Amber. I am here for you. I have always wanted a sister.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel like such an idiot. Here I am crying in front of everyone, I must look stupid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh God, my moods are up and down. Maybe I\u2019m going insane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDallas, sir,\u201d Dax says taking the attention from me. I will have to thank him later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet\u2019s give her a minute. You can maybe get the injection I mentioned earlier?\u201d Dallas seems hesitant to leave me, but agrees to take the injection after Dax explain what it does. Although they left us alone, they never actually left the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My mates and I are standing on one side of the room hidden behind our men again, whilst Ty went to the other side of the room with Dax and Dallas to administrate the injection. Apparently he has been trained to do so by Ren. Lenime can do it, but he is too busy with me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My mate say nothing, they simply hold me and kisses my head. After a few minutes, I have calmed myself down enough to stop crying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m sorry. I didn\u2019t mean to embarrass you,\u201d I whisper an apology to Phe and Lenime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t embarrass us. Not at all,\u201d They both promise me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After helping me dry my face and getting a licked cheek from both for love, wall of men move to reveal me to my nephew again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has a smile just like Aaron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFeeling better now?\u201d He asks kindly as he walks over to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, thank you. Sorry about cry\u2026\u201d I trail off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He surprises me by coming up close and hugging me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phe and Lenime remove their hands from my back as he does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is no need to be sorry. Anyone in your place would be the same or worst. But now you are back with us, as grandpa Aaron wanted. I watched the recordings back. He never forgot you. His lasts words were even \u2018Tell Amber, I love her.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReally?\u201d I ask him pulling back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He smiles and nods. \u201cHe named his first daughter after you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I couldn\u2019t help but let a few stray tears escape. To me, up until a week ago I was living with him and I always have since birth. I quickly wipe the tears away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am glad he had a good life. He deserved happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe did. I promise we will talk later,\u201d He says the last part quietly and turns his attention to my new family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHello. I would like to welcome you again and thank you for your help. Would you like to take a seat?\u201d He indicates to the large table and chairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHello. Thank you,\u201d Kiy replies and everyone heads to the table. I look back to my mates and they gives me a small smile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We sit together with me in between the pair. They hold my hands under the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have bunnies and chocolate?\u201d Lenime asks` Dallas. He\u2019s such a sweetheart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dax laughs and Dallas looks unsure of the question. \u201cYes, Lenime. We will arrange it, \u201d Dax answers from the Emperor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I squeeze Lenime\u2019s hand under the table to let him know I\u2019m thankful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet\u2019s start with introductions. I am Emperor Dallas Vanderveer of this planet, the Marshall Providence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am Kiy, Captain of \u2019The Poyun Elite Explorer.\u2019\u201d Wow, I didn\u2019t know the name of the ship before. \u201cWe are Poyun. This is Ty, my daughter\u2019s mate. Bern, Reck and Lein, my right-hand men. These are my sons Lenime and Phe. Lenime is our top scientist and Phe is to become ruler of our people when we return from our long search.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I smile, proud of my mates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLastly and most importantly, Amber, your Aunt and the Poyun people\u2019s future Queen.\u201d That stuns Dallas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPhe and Lenime are my mates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the first part stuns him the second makes him fall off his chair\u2026 Literally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can\u2019t help but laugh. \u201cThat is totally the type of reaction Aaron would have had.\u201d I grin at him. \u201cExcept he would probably ask to borrow them too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI can reassure you a million percent, I will not be asking that,\u201d He replies getting back up with Lein\u2019s help. Another funny moment, because Lein is about six foot five and Dallas more like five foot six, but he is handsome none the less. \u201cHa, good to see the short ass gene was passed on.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dax is looking at me with amusement. \u201cDallas does that too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does what?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He must have read my mind because the next thing I know he is telling me, \u201cSpeaks what he is thinking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes. It gets me into trouble, sometimes. But being short makes it easier to get away,\u201d Dallas jokes. I let out a short laugh, \u201cAaron would often got into arguments that way too, but he had a silver tongue. He could talk anyone out of anything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am starting to feel more relaxed and less like I want to puke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, Queen?\u201d He whistles, \u201cNever thought I\u2019d have royalty in the family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSays the man who is as good as king of the planet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas chuckles, \u201cI have never thought of myself in that way before,\u201d He sounds honest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am just the person giving orders,\u201d Then it clickss, \u201cHa, I guess you’re right.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you have a mate, wife or children?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI do. We have five daughters and a son. All between the ages of thirteen and three. I\u2019ll introduce you later. I didn\u2019t bring them here because I wasn\u2019t sure what to expect.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow old are you? You don\u2019t look old enough to have a child that old,\u201d I ask surprised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThirty, I knew my mate – Steph – since we were young. She was one of the girls I was schooled with. We basically knew since the beginning we were mates. But our parents or another adult would chaperone us at all times. They didn\u2019t want us mating at ten or that young,\u201d He laughs at the memory. \u201cBut the first time we were left alone at seventeen\u2026 It happened quick that is the first time she got pregnant,\u201d The way he talks about them, you know he loves his family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHave you any siblings?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He frowns slightly, \u201cNo, sadly my parents were older than most when they found each other. But having me was hard and sadly they were unable to conceive anymore. But I have many cousins\u2026 Which I guess some are related to you. I won\u2019t overwhelm you by introducing all of them at once\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I chuckle remembering meeting Phe and his family. \u201cPhe has a dozen siblings, you know? Not including their mates and children.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His eyes widens, \u201cThey all live on the ship?\u201d I nod. Dallas must have understood by his expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know. I can\u2019t wait for a big family too,\u201d I think out loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmber, eat this\u2026\u201d Lenime began pushing things in my face. I swear all I do is eat and watch old television shows now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmber has a large collection of old Earth movies, music, books, medical notes on the change and dozens of other things on drives. Aaron left them for her, in case she woke up without him\u2026\u201d Dax tells Dallas, trying to distract him from my crazy mate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A single tear falls from each of my eyes, I miss him so much. But I know he had a good life, so I am happy in a way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My mates both lick away the tears, but not before the others notice. Lenime stops feeding me and both he and Phe place their hands on my bare back to comfort me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSorry, I\u2019m just emotional. I miss him a lot. He was the biggest pain in the ass and I often felt like strangling him. But I love him,\u201d I say and clear my throat. \u201cBut I know that he would be happy I found his children and my new family.\u201d I love Phe, Lenime, even Kiy and the others, only in a different way. They are the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas smiles, \u201cAs I said before, you are not my aunt, but my sister. I am happy to have you here too.\u201d Aaron made some sweet children or passed his DNA on the his great grandchildren, anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd I will be happy to give you a copy of all the data he left for me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas looks surprised at my offer, \u201cThat would be fantastic. I know that the Reese Providence and I would both be grateful. What do you require as payment?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNothing,\u201d I answer and a moment later Phe, yes sensible Phe corrects me. \u201cShe wants chocolate and fluffy bunnies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas chuckles but says, \u201cSurely there must be more?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo\u2026 Maybe we could trade soon plants\u2026\u201d I go on to tell them about the seeds which Phe found on the planet. Most of which are now growing on board. We offer to give him cuttings to grow and develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas agrees, saying that they did lose many Earth plants in the long journey here many years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI also made a medicine that helps both pregnant Poyun and Human women with the pains and sickness of pregnancy,\u201d Lenime tells him feeding me again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI would be more than happy to give one of your scientists the information on how to make it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes,\u201d Dallas says quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd before you ask we require nothing but friendship for our gifts,\u201d Kiy told him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs long as Amber is happy, we are,\u201d My sweet mates tell him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, they really are that nice,\u201d I say reading Dallas\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey really are,\u201d Dax agrees. \u201cThey are peaceful. Nothing like the others we met. They have no hidden agenda. They let me have free-run around their ship and always answered questions honestly. The Poyun would make great allies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, I welcome you all\u2026\u201d Dallas says smiling, but then pauses and looks at me. I stand up and pat my small belly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCan you believe I already showing and I\u2019m barely a week.\u201d He stares at my stomach wide-eyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen are you due? I can have our personal doctor check you out\u2026 I mean if you want to\u2026?\u201d He is so sweet. That is just how Aaron would react.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have checked her and read the texts from humans We are given. But it would be good to have a doctor of her own species check on her,\u201d Lenime answers him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019ll have it arranged as soon as possible. Do you have any idea when it will be born?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRen said less than four months. That\u2019s all we know so far,\u201d I tell him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat is fast, even for a changed. But I guess it has to do with being a hybrid,\u201d Dallas thinks out-loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, that is what we think too. I would also like to request any newer medical texts you could give us?\u201d Lenime asks again and again Dallas agrees. This is going better than I could ever imagine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI know the text may differ from Amber slightly, but it will still come in handy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dallas looks confused by what Lenime said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know Amber was the first infected right?\u201d Dallas nods and gives me a small smile, almost as though it was a good thing, like he is proud of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom what we have read in the notes, Mr Marshall leaked a diluted form?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSounds about right,\u201d Dallas says agreeing, but still looks unsure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, Amber was in the lab handling it at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe got a full dose?\u201d I nod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why was he staring at me in awe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n
