Just when I thought I had completed my education, I received a formal invitation to Lowcaran Makutu Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A magic school for ages eight to twenty-one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not everyone is magic, but those who are go to a Makutu Academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I always knew I have magic abilities. I regularly use them in day to day life. But being home schooled and from a small village no one outside the village knew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have no clue how they found out but surely sending me to Lowcaran is a mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lowcaraln is the capital city of magic. Only the most powerful wizards or richest go there. I am neither.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My parents both have good, important jobs, but we haven\u2019t money to burn. We are comfortably off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo this, Katrina, it could be enormous for you,\u201d My parents insisted. They never pressured me into anything, but they want what is best for me. I, on the other hand, am a homebody and was reluctant to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong, I\u2019m happy and friendly, I spend a lot of time around my village. But it is small, made up of mainly older people. Which means no need for a public school or any friends my age. But I don\u2019t mind. I love my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to mention the academy is hours away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew from the moment my parents heard the news I\u2019d be going. Packing a case, I left the next day in the chauffeur driven car sent by the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several hours, half of that with me napping and we arrive at the grand enormous castle like building they call a school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car is met by one of the most handsome guys I have ever seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A blonde, blue eyed giant with earrings and holding some kind of staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can\u2019t help but grin as I climb out of the car. He looks like a character from a fantasy film or something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKatrina Wren, you will come with me,\u201d He says, his voice holding no emotion and began to walk away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHello to you too,\u201d I reply sarcastically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have luggage, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pauses and indicates to the driver. \u201cIt will be delivered to your dorm.\u201d Then continues walking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow, you\u2019re just a ray of sunshine, aren\u2019t you?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShut up and move.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a jerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the school building. School hours are between eight am and four pm. But being a late starter you will likely be kept longer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre you a tutor or a student?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stops realizing he hasn\u2019t introduced himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am Nicholas Forster,\u201d He says as though it is meant to mean something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine a paper plane flying straight over my head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m the head prefect.\u201d He is still giving me the same look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just nod as though I know what he\u2019s talking about. Though clearly I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think that prefect means he\u2019s a senior pupil who is authorized to enforce discipline. At least that\u2019s what I think and I only know that because of old television shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDidn\u2019t you read the handbook when you applied?\u201d He asks as though he\u2019s scolding me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHandbook?\u201d Another paper plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He narrows his eyes clearly frustrated by me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe text the academy send to every single student when they apply. It is a necessity to pass the entrance exam today and get a permanent place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA exam? It didn\u2019t say anything about that in the letter I got.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I could imagine steam coming out of his ears now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ll fail miserably. I know nothing about magic except what I can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am so distracted I don\u2019t pay attention to where I am going. Tripping over a step I didn\u2019t notice, I begin to fall forwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It isn\u2019t the first time, I know it won\u2019t be the last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before I can hit the ground, I move my hand as though to catch myself, but instead an invisible pillow like cloud catches me and pushes me back up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is always the same. Being clumsy it is one of the first magic tricks I learned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quickly moving to follow him up the step, I am surprised to find him watching me with raised brows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow did you do that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huh? Fall?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t watching where I was going, sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, I\u2026\u201d He shakes his head. \u201cNever-mind. Probably a fluke,\u201d He mumbles to himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He begins to walk again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passing a small group of girls they don\u2019t seem to notice me. One even tries to speak to my guide but he outright ignores them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow, he is so aloof,\u201d \u201cSo handsome,\u201d \u201cSo mysterious,\u201d They all say dreamily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All I can think is that they are delusional and he is a jerk. Handsome, but a jerk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A moment later we stop at a large door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He knocks and a moment later a familiar voice answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCome in.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recognize the voice even before the door opens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cautiously I enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWelcome, Katrina. It is great to see you again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re the one who reported me to the magic council?!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKatrina!\u201d Nicholas says as though to scold me. Then turns to the older man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSorry, sir. She didn\u2019t read the handbook. I\u2019ll have her read it before the entrance exam.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown noser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jules Harington chuckles. \u201cIt\u2019s perfectly alright. It was my fault. I didn\u2019t send her it.\u201d He walks over closer to me, stopping in front of me. \u201cI\u2019m sorry I didn\u2019t tell you before. I am principal of this academy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prefect listens looking confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI visited her village recently and invited her to attend the academy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He doesn\u2019t look any less confused at the principal\u2019s explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you for the offer. But you know I\u2019m not rich or powerful, so why am I here?\u201d I try my hardest to stay polite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are the most naturally gifted person I have seen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know about that,\u201d I reply suddenly feeling embarrassed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCome on,\u201d He indicates to a small table with three chairs. \u201cTake a seat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI shall pour the tea,\u201d Nicholas says rather than asking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The principal holds up his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, Katrina, use a spell to prepare tea.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI only know one spell.\u201d I hold my hands out and chant, \u201cCake, cake, cake and tea.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not going to work. It\u2019s not even a spell,\u201d Nicholas scoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three large plates of cakes and a large pot of tea appear out of thin-air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat on earth?\u201d He looks confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jules, on the other hand, wears a bright smile and chuckles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the reason I invited her to join.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2020\u2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No exam, I was automatically accepted. Something to do with being invited. Apparently invites aren\u2019t unheard of but are very rare. Though I did have to spend the first week doing tests with the principal to see what level I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had no idea magic classifications were so complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magic spells have their own grades depending on how much power or skill they take.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 Basic,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Medium,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 Intermediate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 Advanced intermediate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Master,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6 High master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then there is the actual user\u2019s level, the level represents what level of magic they can perform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1 Little to no magic ability (Doesn\u2019t normally attend Makutu Academies),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 Some basic spells,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3 Basic spells (Most common globally)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 Basic spells and medium with hard work,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 Medium spells (2rd Most common globally)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6 Medium and some intermediate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7 Intermediate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8 Intermediate and some advanced intermediate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9 Master (Rare),<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10 High master (Extremely rare).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Makutu Academy I am currently attending only takes students with level six or above, unless their family is rich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meaning the academy have a lot of students who don\u2019t deserve to be here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But since most officially don\u2019t know their grades anyone can say they are a master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You only find out your level in your final year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tutors know the grades, so can tailor the work accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But with some it is just obvious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the following days I met dozens of different people. Most people are great. My roommate is a nice girl called Glenda. She has been in the academy since she was eight and isn\u2019t rich. So she has to be at least a level six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Days move fast and it quickly became clear I am a lot more skilled at magic than I originally thought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turns out most have to actually say a spell to cast, but I don\u2019t always have to. Which explains why Prince Nicholas (a nickname used by those who love and hate him alike) was so surprised when I fell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also happens to be a level nine in his final year, he has already finished but has to wait until graduation to officially leave. Which is why Principal Harington has made him my official tutor, because – and I quote – \u2018you need advanced tutoring, a tutor just to focus on you since you have no other magic schooling.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wasn\u2019t best pleased, but he is the only person available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is really popular, he even has a fan club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The typical \u2018don\u2019t touch him, he\u2019s mine\u2019 type. I just laugh at them. I can\u2019t help it. Clearly none of them have ever spoken to him before or they\u2019d no what a jerk he is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSorry, I don\u2019t mean to laugh,\u201d I try to be nice to the stuck up rich girls who are glaring at me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut it\u2019s not like that. He doesn\u2019t like anyone. He is just tutoring me because I\u2019m behind.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not even as though they are young girls with a childhood crush. These are women of twenty. It is ridiculous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the women laugh, well, more of an unladylike snort. \u201cHa, yes. I forgot you were a dunce. As if he\u2019d want a poor farmer girl like you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHa, good on, Mira,\u201d Her idiot friends laugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cActually, my parents are a vet and a doctor and unlike you, who had daddy paid to get you in, I was actually sort-out and invited by the principal.\u201d I give them a sweet smile and walk away feeling pleased with myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m not normally a mean girl, but they are cruel and self entitled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mira girl says she is a level eight but my friend in her class, Luke said the she can\u2019t even light a candle, which is a basic level spell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My group of friends consists of me, my room mate and two guys. I speak to others in passing but don\u2019t actively hang out with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So when I received a love note a couple of weeks in I automatically think of them awful women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I honestly thought it was a joke the first couple weeks, yes, weeks, a note once a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I thought it was some kind of initiation joke. I mean, what do I know, I haven\u2019t really been around people my age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why a joke? Well, you see both Luke and Reed are gay and dating. Whereas Glenda is also a gay and dating someone. But it\u2019s a secret, so I don\u2019t know who.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But after some discreet questions without letting them know about the notes, I quickly learned it wasn\u2019t any of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018My beautiful enchantress, I am under your spell. You have taken my heart. From your secret admirer.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Angel of my heart, accept my love and take my hand. From your secret admirer.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Flowing rivers run deep in my heart for you. From your secret admirer.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are just some of the notes, hence why I thought it was a joke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A couple month of notes like that, each posted in my work book and I had no clue who it could be. Only a handful of people have access to my book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it couldn\u2019t be them, they are either tutors or the prince\u2019s friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All just as pompous as him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the prince himself\u2026 I can\u2019t help but laugh at the idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat are you laughing at, bunny brain? You haven\u2019t even finished the task I set you!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does that sound like a secret admirer? No chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The task. Write and create a disappearing spell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes, I have.\u201d I hold up my book and show him my spell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He looks at the page to me to the page and back to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis just says disappearing spell.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes,\u201d I grin, \u201cIt\u2019s inventive, ain\u2019t it?\u201d I love winding him up. He gets so annoyed at me, goes red and tells me off but never shouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. \u201cThis isn\u2019t a spell,\u201d He says for what feels like the hundredth time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo?\u201d I furrow my brows, but then place my pen on my lap and hold my hand over it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDisappearing spell!\u201d I say my thoughts full of intention. Normally if I focus my crappy spells work, much to his dismay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pen disappears, but so does my skirt which it was sat on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stare not processing it for a moment before realizing I had chosen today of all days it wear my nude lacy panties which are basically see-through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I squeal and quickly stand with my back to him, taking off my blazer and wrapping it around my waist before awkwardly turning back to him up in time to see him look up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWere you staring at my butt?\u201d I ask him accusingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat\u2019s enough practice for today,\u201d He tells me as aloof as ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I was mistaken. Rumours are he has a fianc\u00e9e, some girl in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is one of the rich kids, so probably one of the snooty girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanking him, I quickly leave the room and rush back to mine unseen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That evening I have lunch alone with Luke as Reed gave my room mate some private tutoring. She is struggling with transformation spells, something he specializes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We sat laughing and joking before finally returning to our dorms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was just entering the girls dorm when a piece of paper flew at me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not like a paper plane, as in had a spell cast on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I look around but see no-one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quickly entering my empty room, I open the envelope and find a note from my admirer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Seeing you joke and laugh with Luke leaves me sad. I want that to be me and you.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hang on, he was watching us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The room had been crowded, it could have been anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a fold in the paper, unfolding it, my eyes widen at what I see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A picture and then more text. \u2018Come to the bridge at midnight if you feel the same way. From your secret admirer.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I stare almost drooling looking at the picture. A selfie with a difference. It was from the neck down of a tall, buff and tanned man, completely naked. Yes, his huge hard cock hung between his legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
