Prologue
Hello. My name is Marie and I am a vampire looking for someone.
Just another night running around the city in the dark alleys, looking for someone to feed on.
So I wasn’t your typical vampire.
To be honest I’m the only one I know, so I’m not really sure what the typical is.
But it would be nice to find out. I have tried to look for them.
But have you ever looked around the city for one? It’s not as if you can shout and ask everyone.
I did try putting a message online site once.
That was a big mistake.
Don’t get me wrong, I did get lots of replies.
Some, obviously from people a few screws loose.
But some really did sound genuine, so I met most of them.
But yes, you’re right, yet another mistake in a long line of them.
If you have ever been online or in the city looking for blood fetish, you will know what I mean when I say live vampires.
That’s right, them crazy people who think they are a real vampire, drink thimbles of blood, dress in a lot of black and wear fake fangs. So, yes, a real disappointment.
I sometimes envy those people though. What I would give to be normal, have normal friends and family. To be able to go out in the sun.
I knew they were not real as soon as I saw them.
I wanted to try at least have a normal life.
But whenever they got too close to finding out the truth or I stared at them for too long – which made me a bit rabid – I had to either eat them or run.
To be honest, most of the time I did end up eating and killing most living things if I stayed around them more than half an hour. Which was another reason I wanted to find an another of my kind.
I was a normal child and teenager, until I reached my twenty first birthday. I was just on my way home after a night of partying with my friends.
I was feeling a bit off, but I had been for a few days, so I didn’t think anything of it. Not to mention, I had also been drinking.
As soon as I got home my mother called me to ask if I wanted any dinner as she was just in the kitchen anyway doing some for my father.
Yes, I still lived with my parents. Well, at least part of the time. The rest I spent at college.
Still not feeling well I waved and said not to bother as I was going to have an early night and hoped I’d feel better in the morning.
I walked to my room and opened the door. Getting undressed, showering and then changing into comfy clothes for bed.
Laying down on the bed, I started worse.
“Oh my God, what wrong with my heart? I feel like it’s being crushed,” I was still laying on the bed.
I tried to stand but just fell to the ground. I trued to push myself back up, but now I could no longer breath.
‘Oh crap, I’m gonna die! I gotta get parents attention,’ I thought in a panic.
I somehow manage to drag myself over to the intercom button which was by my door.
We had a pretty big old house. I press the buzzer, then I felt myself finally get light head and began to fall again.
But this time it was like my face was on fire and for some reason my mouth felt like it was going to explode.
In seconds my body felt strong like nothing I ever felt before.
But I felt something even weirder still…
Why couldn’t I feel my heart?
But I felt on fire and still the pain in my mouth.
Suddenly my mother appeared, shortly followed by my father.
I was still on the ground, my mother looked terrified at the sight of me on the floor and now a deadly white colour.
He ran over to me and shouted to my mother to call for an ambulance.
Sadly though, the only person who needed help was my parents.
Because ten seconds later I ripped out my fathers throat and seconds later, my mother too.
That is when I first found out not all vampires have to bitten to be made…
