Chapter 11
Walking into the house it was as though nothing had changed.
Expect they hated my family even more now. Not that they ever really liked them.
When I first started dating Chris, my parents – mainly my mother – accused me of stealing poor innocent Chelsey’s boyfriend. When I asked about David she said he was only a good friend. Then later that Chelsey had fallen into his arms out of grief.
Worse of all, my mother and sister both tried to force me to break up with Chris around the same time. Even calling his parents telling them a lot of bull my sister had told her, blaming his harlot girlfriend for everything – me, her daughter. She demanded they make us break up so he could date Chelsey again.
I moved in with the Dimitris shortly afterwards. I was only fifteen.
Despite everything I remained in contact with my cunts of a family and David dated her on and off.
Anyway, back to today.
“You had your scan today, right?” Everyone was really happy about the babies.
David wore a secret smile and Chris handed them a four picture. One of each baby and a group picture of the tangled babies.
Looking at one picture, they passed it on. Until Chris’s mum, Mary reached the last picture.
Her eyes widened and her mouth gaped as she looked from her son to me.
Chris’s grin widens and he nods. “Triplets.”
His father almost falls off his chair and his mother starts squealing. His siblings are clearly happy too.
All congratulated us.
“Yes, I’m going to move in and be a great father.”
No one paid any attention to David knowing what he was like.
Everyone was beyond happy. Chris’s mother and sister were already planning babysitting them. I have missed everyone. I didn’t realise how much until recently. I really love them.
Over dinner I discovered Gabriel and his parents had to get a restraining order against my sister and mother since they were following and threatening them. Chelsey even bragged about owning their family company when everything was done.
She is apparently convinced the case will be thrown out, Chris will be prisoned and she’ll be able to sue his family for money.
“I am so ashamed of my family,” I admit embarrassed. “I am so sorry. I should have known but I…”
Mary shook her head. “You aren’t to blame.”
“My wife is right. No one knew how evil your sister really was.”
“Let’s forget about that for now. Let’s speak babies and weddings.”
**
Chris wants to marry before the babies are born. I want the same but not to be too big to enjoy it. That is why we have decided to get married next month.
Quick? Maybe.
We would have done it sooner but legally it is the soonest we can marry. Something about having to announce it. I don’t know but I don’t mind too much. It gives us time to sort everything.
The best part, Tess – Gabriel’s wife – has her grandmother’s wedding dress. She inherited after she passed. It was her grandmother dream her granddaughter would wear it for her wedding. But it wasn’t her type of dress at all.
A long lace, loose and flowy dress, it is very… Hmm… How to describe it?
Tess calls it her ‘Gran’s hippy wedding dress.’ But I really love it. It’s very bohemian. I have seem it a number of times when visiting her house. She didn’t like it but it had sentimental value.
So when she offered to give me the dress I was more than a little surprised.
I’ve heard a lot of horror stories at sister in-laws but she is an amazing person. Sweet and kind. I love her as a sister. Then again I love all Chris’s family. You have never met a nicer bunch of people.
“It’s what my gran would have wanted.” Emotions running high, I cried.
Cue my soft hearted fiance panicking I was upset or hurt. Quickly I began laughing and hugging my darling.
Basic idea of what we wanted was discussed. I decided on Tess and Martha as my bridesmaids. David will be best man but Gabriel would be in the wedding party too on Chris’s side.
Jonah git a little glossy eyed when I asked him to walk me down the aisle.
“Are you sure?” I smile and nod.
“I wouldn’t want anyone else.” Even if I was speaking to my parents, I would want them involved in the wedding.
My mum and sister would make the wedding about my ‘sweet’ sister. All whilst my dad just lets them ruin my day. As long as they are happy. It doesn’t matter about me. I am nothing to them.
I don’t mind too much though. I have a new family.
