Chapter 25
When we enter the dinning room not only is Koya and Dax sat waiting for us, but so is Ty and by the way he is holding Koya you could tell he is feeling insecure despite having no reason too.
“Good morning,” I say getting their attention and they all said it back.
“Wow,” Koya whistles.
“What?” I ask, confused for a minute and then I remember my belly, which is noticeable only because the skin tight clothing.
“Oh my belly, mother said gestation will be less than four months,” I explain sitting down on a chair, but Phe stops me and sits me on his lap. “That’s fast. You going to have a lot of children?” Dax asks sounding genuinely interested.
“Yes, we will have a lot of babies,” Lenime answers without my consultation. “At least twenty,” Phe agrees.
I ignore it and eat something from the huge bowl of food in front of me.
“The amount they eat, I would be huge in no time. The food is not only plentiful, but tastes good. Not to mention the alcohol.”
“I haven’t tried it,” I tell Dax. “I don’t really drink alcohol. Aaron always tried to get me too, but I never saw a point.”
We continue to eat and speak. Apparently whilst we were sleeping Dax had been spending a lot of time with Koya and the others and because what I had said to Dax the other day about not being able to join with anyone, it had given Ty the wrong idea and he now refuses to leave Koya alone with him. Despite their friendship being purely innocent.
“I don’t know how you put up with my brothers all the time. As much as I love Ty, he is making me crazy.”
“You get used to the madness. Like Lenime and the button. You wouldn’t think he was trying to get to it would you?” They all look to an innocent Lenime who look like he is purely sat eating. But looking under the table is a different matter. With one hand being used to eat food, the second looking to be innocently under the table or on my lap, but no. It is frantically and pointlessly pulling at my suit between my legs.
Phe, on the other hand, is running my belly and feeding me and himself, despite me already feeding myself he insists on giving me more.
“Button?” Dax questions.
“Yes, Amber’s button.” He looks even more confused by Lenime.
“Let’s put it this way, it probably wasn’t a good idea to show him porn.”
Realisation hits and he laughs out loud.
“You are great guys. So funny.” He continues to laugh.
Minutes later and my bladder is ready to explode.
“I will be right back,” I say standing up and my mates move to follow.
“I’ll only be a minute.”
“We will come still,” They try to say but Koya cut in, “You two stay here.”
She gave them a strange look and they agreed.
Weird.
But alright, I’ll only be a minute anyway.
In the bathroom, I finish my business in less than a minute apart and move to return but stop before entering the dinning room. I am out of sight, but can hear them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not normal nosy, but when I hear Dax say, “I may not know old fashioned women, but what I do know is that any human female who finds out they are being lied to they will be angry the longer it continues. They need to tell Amber the truth. She deserves to know.”
A million and one ideas run thought my head.
What if the mate thing is the lie?
No, they love me, I am sure.
What if they have another mate or they don’t want our child?
The ideas keep coming and I keep trying to explain them.
After another minute, I decide enough is enough. I calm myself down and enter the room as though I heard nothing. I return to sit on Phe’s lap. They are all a little tense but I pretend I don’t see it. When I sit down and take Lenime’s hand they both relax.
I am upset that they would lie to me, but I love them, but I could never hate them.
“You finish your breakfast, Amber, and we will meet you a bit later,” Koya says standing up. They all say bye. She strokes my ponytail, before they leaving the room and our quarters.
Leaving me again alone with my lying mates.
“Eat some more of this, Amber, it will help.” Lenime is feeding me as well as Phe this time.
I eat a few more a few more small mouthfuls before my anxiety gets the best of me and a whimper leaves my mouth.
Both men immediately stop and look me over worried. “Are you hurting, love?” Phe asks unable to find anything out of place.
“W.. W… Why would you lie to me?” My bottom lip quivers as I try not to cry.
Their eye widen, “You heard?”
“I heard Dax say you lied to me,” I verify. “Do you have another mate?”
“No!” They both say at the same time and Lenime stands up to hug me.
“Let’s go in bedroom, it is a better place to talk,” Phe says trying to stand up holding me, but I free myself and walk in front of them alone.
“Just tell me?” I almost whisper sitting on the edge of the bed. My mates sitting either side of me, but I can tell they are unsure about touching me.
“Our bloodline is special,” Phe is the one speaking. “Our grandparents on my father’s side, have been the rulers of our people for more than a hundred and fifty years. I was chosen as their successor. I have been trained, taught and breathed everything to be the perfect ruler all my life. By the age of twenty most Poyun find their mates, some a little later. But after forty years of searching the whole of my world and being given the chance to choose my own, I decided to leave my planet in search of the only thing I have ever truly wanted.” I looks at him with furrowed brows.
“You can mate other people? Choose your own?” I ask slightly angry at being lied to.
“Yes, there is away of genetically altering the person so your body thinks they are your mate…” I cut him off before he can finish.
“You did this to me?” I accuse.
“NO. YOU ARE MY REAL MATE!” He shouts making me crawling back into Lenime’s arms.
Phe looks horrified at what he did.
“I’m sorry, Amber, I’m sorry. I love you so much. I didn’t mean too… I’m sorry, please… I would never force or trick you into mating, neither of us would. I was just as surprised as you when I found out and even more so when I found out you were Lenime’s too.” I feel Lenime nuzzle my neck and hold me tightly against him as his brother rambles and speaks for them both.
“But we would never change you. You were born to be our mate. You were never genetically altered by us. The Poyun are brought up loving their mates. Only when I met you, when we met you, our love increased infinitely. I would give up everything just to stay with you. Please don’t leave us. I’m sorry. I’ll tell you anything? No more lies.” I know he isn’t lying anymore, but I need time alone. I know that can never happen.
“If you are… Were searching for your mate, then why is your family here?” I ask one of a dozen questions I have and pull back from Lenime, making him let out a whimpering cry.
I feel horrible for doing it, but I need answers and having him touching me clouds my mind.
“Poyun families are close and mine closer still. I have no idea how long I would be out searching and my family didn’t wish to be apart from me for years at a time. My grandparents had no choice but to stay because they had to rule.
“Lenime also hadn’t found his mate. It was a good chance for him, we knew it wasn’t a Poyun, because he had been with me as I searched for mine.”
“Why search? Why not choose your own?” He is wearing a small smile and for a second his fingers brush my cheek.
“We both had that choice, but neither of us wanted anyone but you. I am not going to lie, there was a few women, one in particular who wished to mate me or Lenime. Her constant pestering was one of the things that helped me make up my mind to leave and search for you in other places. When I was younger I often dreamed of a beautiful small woman with eyes the colour of the night sky and hair almost white, as did Lenime. Our parents didn’t know what to think of it. But I loved that woman, we both did and always secretly wished she was real.” He looks at me with so much love it is heart-breaking.
“Then you walked in with Phe,” Lenime is speaking now.
“The same woman I had dreamed of so long. I felt happy for Phe, but like my own heart was breaking. I loved you. But you couldn’t be my mate – you were his. But I enjoyed being with you either way. The moment I picked you up and I felt the mate sparks everything made sense. You were sending us messages while we slept to tell us you were sleeping and waiting too. I have no idea how but I think maybe our mate link has always been connected, if only slightly.”
“Yes. The moment I saw you I knew you were both my mate and the woman from my dream. I have a book full of pictures of you. I tried to draw you but they were never right. Lenime was always better at that,” Phe confesses.
I don’t know how I should feel, but I feel flattered. “You both drew pictures?”
“Lenime still does or at least he did when we found you.”
I turn to Lenime to see him fidgeting nervously.
“Can I see one?”
“They are in his old quarters. We can go there now?” Phe asks.
“And we could pack up my stuff to move. Mmm, maybe?” Lenime suggests hopeful. I know they are still worried and I am still a angry.
“Alright, lead the way,” I say standing up.
Exiting the room, both my mates walk at my sides. They are both stood so close that as we walk theirs hands keep brushing mine.
It seems to be an accident, but looking out of the corner of my eye I notice Phe watching my hand and purposely brushing mine. Lenime is doing the same. At least it is psychical contact so I won’t get sick.
Only a minute later we arrive at a room not much smaller or different from Phe’s.
My younger mate leads me into the bedroom to find literally hundreds of drawings of a beautiful light haired woman, with sparkling eyes.
It is me. “These are…” I am lost for words. I never expected Lenime to be so…
“You are such a talented artist. But I’m not this beautiful.” Yes, I know. Again, properly not the way most would react.
“No, you are a millions times more so,” Lenime says nervously taking my hand and kissing it.
“But do you love me or only the dream?”
“No. We have always adored the dream of you and maybe even loved you. But it wasn’t until we met you we actually fell in love with you,” Lenime tells me.
“And we really are sorry for lying to you, but we can’t let you leave us. I love you so much. I can’t lose you. I don’t want to live without you. Even if we have to stay with you on that planet we are going to now.” Phe is whimpering as though crying, but without the tears.
“But your family, people? You are meant to be ruler?”
“I don’t want any of them if I can’t have you.”
“Please, please, please stay? Don’t leave,” Lenime pleads.
“I told you both many of times,” I lick both of their cheeks in turn.
“I am never leaving you. Yes, I am mad because you lied and a little hurt. But I love you both so much. You are my family. Our family,” I reach down and rub my growing stomach. “Who would take care of us, give our baby more beautiful siblings? Our baby needs their daddies as much as I do.”
Lenime immediately attaches himself to me. Phe on the other hand is a bit most cautious.
“You want us still? Even if I have to rule?”
“Even if you never washed I would want you. Nothing could ever change that.”
Not even a second later Phe has attached himself to me too.
“This is great and all guys, but aren’t we meant to be packing?” They ignore my comment and continue to hold me as though I might disappear.
